| Social Assessment:
We begin by meeting with your older family member in his or her
environment, to gather information and get to know one another.
Does he or she have special interests that a companion might
share? Are there dietary restrictions or preferences? Is a male
or female companion most appropriate? Perhaps there is a special
love for music or the arts that could be more fully enjoyed with
the right companion. This is a warm, positive, sharing time
where we learn what the elder adult hopes to gain from this new
relationship.
|
Careful Matching:
Great care is taken to match the most suited person for each
assignment. Information is taken from our Assessment, and
discussions with the family, the client, and other
professionals. All this is filtered through what we've learned
from our many years of experience. Only then is a companion
selected and introduced. The human elements of respect, genuine
concern, and warm, caring communication are the most important
aspects of our work. |
|
 |
Ongoing Commitment:
Selection of an appropriate companion is only the beginning of
our role in enhancing your elder loved one's quality of life.
The progress of the relationship is constantly monitored through
our communication with the client, the client's family, and the
companion. We are then able to answer questions, resolve
problems, and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.
You can be certain that whatever may come up, Compassionate
Companions will face it with you. |
